Digital Scales at GHODT Online Headshop:

Each one of us already used one. A scale for determining the weight of a product. But where do they actually come from? Who invented it?

Archaeologists found the first mentions and traces among the ancient Egyptians in the form of wall paintings carved into the rock in graves from 2000 BC. Here simple beam scales were used to determine the weight. And as we know, the Egyptians were well ahead of their time in other techniques as well.
Later the Etruscans and the Romans further developed this technique by significantly improving the accuracy - this happened around 500 BC. and was always further developed. So maybe one mild evening Cleopatra and Caesar were sitting across from each other on the Nile and arguing about who created this wonderful piece of technology.
And so centuries passed in which mankind further developed this mechanical weighing technology and brought it to almost perfection. Some of us may still remember those clunky old grocery store scales that used to be there. In the end nothing else than what our ancestors already used.

In 1939 two American engineers developed the electronic measuring cell, which ushered in the modern age of weight determination. Even today, in a modernized form, it is the “non plus ultra” in the field of measurement technology.
Whether it's small pocket scales, kitchen scales or large parcel scales - you can see the scales have a long history behind them and our times are indispensable.
